In modern society, a vast majority of weddings tend to be planned by the couple in place of their parents. However, most brides and grooms want their parents, especially their mothers, to be a part of the wedding planning process. Here are some unexpected ways in which you can help your children during the run up to the wedding.

  1. Form a Bond With Your Child’s Future In-Laws.

You could offer to host dinner parties and at-home barbeques all through the wedding planning and ask your child’s future in-laws and siblings to come over. This will ease the pressure off your child as he/she will not have to do the icebreaker duties. Informal gatherings like these will allow everybody a chance to be comfortable and at ease.

2. Pamper Your Child

As a mother you can surprise your child by scheduling a few massage sessions for your daughter/son to revitalize them. Spa treatments are also a hot favorite, and your child will appreciate the effort you took for her comfort. (And you may be responsible for introducing your child to his or her wedding day beauty team, and not even know it!

3. Ask Your Child For A Wedding Day Project

One of the best ways to help your child without seeming obtrusive is to ask him/her for a small project for the wedding that you will take care of. This could be something like researching different food vendors, or crafting the wedding invitations.

4. Give Them Support

From attending the food tasting session to visiting sites for the wedding, your support and involvement for your child will make a huge difference. Also, both of you will have a lot of fun in these activities. Your child will be happy for your participation and support.

5. Help Apart From The Wedding

This could be something like checking out a house your child intends to buy, or cooking and cleaning for them during the wedding planning time. Any help that you offer voluntarily will be a great lifesaver for your child and they will be thankful to have you on their side.

Weddings are significant life events. As a mother, you will have fulfilled your duties to your child when you actively participate in their wedding planning. Your help will be a godsend to them and they will love you all the more for it.
