The 5 Best Wedding Venues In Houston in 2023
Full Disclosure: There is no science or ranking behind this year’s list of the best wedding venues in Houston. These are just some of my personal favorites, and they are not only known for their style, but also for how well they take care of their clients, and their guests!
If you’ve recently gotten engaged in Houston (or about to!), then it must be time to start looking at places to host your wedding celebration! It is no secret that Houston is home to dozens of really fantastic locations in and around the city, and that alone can be a bit overwhelming when you’re just starting to get into wedding planning. Luckily, you’ve found me, so I’m going to make the search easier on you by offering my favorite list for 2023!.
So, in no particular order, here they are:
The Bell Tower on 34th
The Bell Tower on 34th should be considered a true gem of a Houston wedding venue, if it isn’t already! Everytime I am lucky enough to produce a client’s wedding at this gorgeous space, it always feels like a dream! It features several different spaces to host your wedding reception to fit a variety of different sizes. The entire venue can accommodate over 1500 guests! The natural beauty and ambiance mixed with a knowledgeable and friendly staff is unmatched.
The Bell Tower on 34th doesn’t allow outside catering, but you probably wouldn’t use it even if they did because their culinary team creates delicious plates to fit a variety of different tastes. Valet Parking is also included in your package when you choose them as your wedding venue in Houston, and the best part? You cannot see the parking lot from the front of the venue!
The Bell Tower on 34th also features:
Outdoor/Indoor Wedding Options
The most picturesque waterwall in Houston!
Shuttle service for your guests when you use one of their partner hotels
Freedom to use your own insured wedding vendors (including us!)
Clean and spacious getting ready suites for your wedding party
2. The Magnolia Hotel- Houston
The Magnolia Hotel is my absolute favorite hotel in Houston! And no, I’m not just saying that because my team is included as your wedding coordinator if you decide to have your wedding ceremony and reception at the hotel. Very few large brands understand the importance of guest experience like Marriott. The fact that Magnolia Hotel is a Tribute Portfolio Hotel under the Marriott collection, means you’re able to rest assured knowing that you made a venue choice that your guests will absolutely love, just as much as you do!
The hotel doesn’t charge venue rental fees when your (really competitive) food and beverage minimum is met, meaning you won’t feel like you’re paying more than you have to for a stylish, modern, and comfortable upscale wedding venue experience. The friendly sales & catering team works directly with you and the hotel’s executive chef to create wedding menus that will leave your mouth watering from the tasting all the way through to your wedding day!
The Magnolia Hotel also features:
Packages that include complimentary accommodations for you on your wedding night
Vast amounts of function and pre-function space to celebrate in style and comfort
Included candle decor to make your wedding ceremony and reception sparkle
No rental fees for tables, chairs, and house linens.
Downtown Houston rooftop with a mural to capture your love for each other and the city!
3. The Sunset Coffee Building
The Sunset Coffee Building may be Downtown Houston’s best kept wedding secret. If you enjoy an industrial, urban oasis OR your coffee routine is part of your personality, then this wedding venue located in Downtown Houston, directly on the bayou, is perfect for you!
One of the most special things about the Sunset Coffee Building, is how many different options there are for smaller guest lists, for a property that isn’t that vast when you take a quick glance. The venue offers a beautiful rooftop terrace that overlooks the bayous. Perfect for a 80 person ceremony, or a spring wedding cocktail reception! The plaza thats visible from the pedestrian bridge that gets you from Commerce Street to the building, is perfect for a tented celebration of up to 300 guests!
The Sunset Coffee Building also features:
Fully accessible spaces using with an elevator, or steps
Ability to bring in your own wedding vendors, including catering
Access to caterer’s kitchen with most rental packages
Tons of natural photo backdrops for all of your wedding portraits
4. Houston Botanic Gardens
The Houston Botanic Garden opened Phase One of their 30 year masterplan in 2020. Since then, this natural oasis has hosted some pretty incredible celebrations. There are multiple different event spaces to host a variety of different wedding styles, and a handful of even more micro wedding, or elopement spots throughout the garden.
We have a wedding coming up in January where the Grooms are having their ceremony at Woodland Glade, and their cocktail hour and reception will be at the Global Collections Tent. The detail that the architect and staff have set up on the campus makes weddings really easy and stunning all at the same time. Their curated list of wedding and event professionals will put you at ease knowing the vendors you select will deliver showstopping results for your big day!
Houston Botanic Gardens also feature:
6 completely different spaces to host a variety of different wedding celebrations
Plenty of parking for any size guest lists
Different types of vegetation throughout the garden means nature will look absolutely stunning in any season you decide to get married.
Handicap Accessible
5. The Ballroom At Tanglewood
The Ballroom At Tanglewood opened this year. It is a redesigned, reimagined space where an older Houston wedding venue once stood. Located near The Galleria in Houston, The Ballroom At Tanglewood is not only easy for your guests to get to, its also got fabulous interior finishes that will truly wow you and your wedding guests!
The pristine venue offers 6,000 square feet of event space that you’ll have access to on your wedding, and can host your wedding celebration for up to 300 guests. From the same people who brought us The Ballroom At Bayou Place, the owners of the venue are houston event titans with decades of experience in the wedding and event industry across several different disciplines. All that means is that you’ll definitely be in good hands if you choose The Ballroom At Tanglewood for your wedding day.
